Freshman Duo Leads Lacrosse Against Immaculata

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The freshmen duo Georgina Dominique and Claire Johnson tallied the Owls only goals Tuesday afternoon the visiting Immaculata Mighty Macs down the Owls 18-2 in non-league action.

After training 12-0 at the half, Dominique got the Owls on the board just 1:30 into the second-half. Following a clear attempt by Bryn Mawr, Dominique took the ball to the net where she leaped in the air and beat Mighty Mac goalie Nicole Behrndt to the near side of the net.

Immaculata tacked on four more goals before Johnson netted her ninth goal of the season. With just over three minutes left in the game, Johnson was awarded a free potion shot following a shooting space violation on Anne Moulton. After taking three steps towards the net, Johnson fired her shot low as it skimmed past Behrndt.

The Mighty Macs added two more goals to secure their 10th win of the season.

Leading Immaculata with four goals each was Allison Jakavick and Shannon Neill while Danielle Lopez handed out three assits.

For the Owls, sophomore goalie Katie Fong posted four saves while sophomore Ashton Dwyer won two draws. Dominique scooped-up a team-best five groundballs and caused four turnovers.

The Owls are back to action when they play host to Notre Dame of Maryland University on Thursday, April 25, at 4:30 on Applebee Field.
