Dominique Leads Leacrosse with a Pair of Goals Against Immaculata

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Sophomore Georgina Dominique recorded a pair of goals, both unassisted, as the Bryn Mawr lacrosse team fell to visiting Immaculata University Friday afternoon.

The game started with Immaculata finding the back of the net just thirty-nine seconds into the game. The Mighty Macs tacked on three more goals before Bryn Mawr was able to get on the board.

Bryn Mawr answered with three goals in less than a minute. Freshman Alison Spain got the Owls on the board with an unassisted goal at 10:53. Senior Kathleen Magner and Dominique added one goal each separated by 16-seconds at 10:14 and 9:58, respectively. Magner won the draw following an Immaculata goal and sprinted to the cage as she fired her shot past Nicole Behrndt. Dominique's shot came from the front of the net as it skimmed by the goalie.

Bryn Mawr looked to be back in the game as they cut their deficit to two, 5-3. However, after four minutes of scoreless action, Immaculata tallied two goals 17-seconds apart to push their lead to 7-3. They added four more scores over the final 3:25 to take a commanding 11-3 lead into the half.

Immaculata came out of the intermission by scoring six times during the opening 15 minutes of the second-half.

Senior Katherine Kilmer scored her second goal of the season at 8:30 on a free position shot. Just under four minutes later, Dominique recorded her second goal of the game when gained possession following an IU foul and split a pair of defenders as she unloaded a shot in mid-air that flew past Behrndt.

Immaculata scored the final goal of the game at 3:34 to secure the 18-5 win.

Leading the Mighty Macs was Katie Cook with five goals while Kelly Lapp added five assists.

Freshman goalie Katie Alpert posted 13 saves on the afternoon while causing two turnovers. Magner tallied eight draws while junior Zoe Fisher had two caused turnovers.

The Owls will travel south to Hilton Head for their Spring Break training trip next week. They return to the Main Line on face Saturday, March 15, when they take on McDaniel at 12:00 pm.
