Johnson Nets Owls’ Lone Goal against McDaniel

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Sophomore Claire Johnson posted Bryn Mawr's only goal as the Owls fell to visiting McDaniel College 18-1 in Centennial Conference action Saturday afternoon.

The Green Terror opened the game by netting six goals in the opening 4:53 of play.

Bryn Mawr got on the board at 24:26 with Johnson's tally. Following a foul on McDaniel, senior Kathleen Magner lined-up on the 8-meter line. After taking two steps to the goal, Magner found Johnson, who was cutting to the back side of the net, passed it and Johnson finished it for her first goal of the season.

McDaniel closed out the first-half by netting five unanswered goals to give them an 11-1 advantage at the half.

The Terror dominated the second-half by scoring seven times to earn the 18-1 win and their first conference win of the season.

McDaniel outshot the Owls 39-6 while holding a 17-4 advantage in draw controls.

The Green Terror was led by Danielle Entrot and Samantha Barbeito. Entrot posted four goals and five assists while Barbeito scored three times and handed-out four assists.

Freshman Katie Alpert posted 15 saves in 60 minutes of work in the net. Alpert, Magner and freshman Jessica Shill scooped-up two ground balls each.

Bryn Mawr is back to action when they host Cedar Crest College on Tuesday, March 18, at 4:00 pm on Applebee Field.
