BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Bryn Mawr used a nine-goal first-half to pick up a 14-4 non-conference win over visiting Cedar Crest College Tuesday afternoon on the Main Line. Senior Kathleen Magner led all scorers with six goals while junior Ashton Dwyer added three goals and two assists.
The Owls got on the board at 25:16 when senior Katherine Kilmer fed Dwyer for her first of three goals on the afternoon. After six minutes of scoreless action, Magner tallied her first goal at 18:48.
Bryn Mawr rattled off five goals, all unassisted, during a five minute span. Magner tallied two (14:46, 10:45) while junior Zoe Fisher (15:35), Dwyer (11:39) and sophomore Georgina Dominique (11:10) recorded the others.
Kilmer tallied a goal at 6:39 before Magner scored her fourth of the game with help from Dwyer at 2:25. Bryn Mawr held a 9-0 lead at the half.
Coming out of halftime, Magner recorded back-to-back goals before Cedar Crest got on the board with their first goal of the afternoon by Emily Rodenberger with 17:35 to play in the game.
Cedar Crest added two more goals at 13:45 and 12:12 to cut Bryn Mawr's lead to eight, 11-3. Goals by Dwyer, Fisher and Kilmer separated by just over four minute gave Bryn Mawr an 11-goal lead, 14-3.
Rodenberger picked-up Cedar Crest's final goal of the game with 11 seconds left.
In addition to her six goals, Magner added four draw controls. Freshman goalie Katie Alpert posted nine saves and scooped-up five ground balls. Sophomore Claire Johnson and Dwyer added four and two draws, respectively. Johnson also added an assist.
Bryn Mawr held a slight 26-24 advantage in shots and were 20-for-25 on clears.
The Owls are back to action when they travel to Lancaster Biblical on Thursday, March 20, for a 4:00 pm non-league match up.
