BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Sophomore Claire Johnson scored four goal and added an assists as the Bryn Mawr lacrosse team defeated cross-town rivals Rosemont, 15-5, in non-league action.
After more than ten minutes of scoreless play, Bryn Mawr's Georgina Dominique netted her first of three goals to get the Owls on the board at 19:53. Nearly forty seconds later, Rosemont's Jennifer South scored to knot the game at 1 apiece.
However, the rest of the half belonged to the Owls. Bryn Mawr rattled off seven goals over the final 18 minutes of the half to take a commanding 8-1 lead into halftime.
During that span, Johnson scored twice as did Dominique. Seniors Katherine Kilmer and Kathleen Magner, as well as, freshman Alison Spain recorded one goal each for the Owls. Dominique and Magner also added an assist.
Bryn Mawr came out firing in the second-half as they netted four unanswered foals over the opening seven minutes of action. Kilmer scored the first goal of the half at 26:22, followed by junior Ashton Dwyer (26:00), Magner (24:40) and Kilmer again at 23:20.
Rosemont answered by score three times, but the goals were broken up by Johnson's goal at 12:38.
Johnson scored again with just over three minutes left in the half while sophomore Megan Kilmer scored at 1:51. Both goals came way of free position shots.
Rosemont's Lauren Lombardo scored the game's final goal with twenty-six seconds left in regulation.
In addition, Magner won 10 draws and scooped-up three ground balls as Johnson won two and picked-up one. Dwyer added two ground balls. Freshman Katie Alpert posted 11 saves on the day en route to her 5th win of the season.
Bryn Mawr is back to action when they travel o Muhlenberg on Friday, April 18, for a 4:00 pm match-up with the Mules.
