BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Senior Meredith Davis led the Owls Saturday afternoon against the Gettysburg Bullets by winning the 100 freestyle race by edging Marie Gingher to claim Bryn Mawr's only individual event on the afternoon. The Bullets defeated Bryn Mawr 131-58.
Davis, who led the entire race, held-off a hard charging Gingher in the final 10-yards en route to her second individual race win of the season. Her time of 56.85 is the fastest put forth by an Owl this season.
In addition to winning the 100 free, Davis claimed second place in the 200 IM. Her time of 2:20.40 was six-hundredths of a second short of race winner Lea Candelmo.
The 400 medley relay team of Davis, freshmen Carolyn Gee and Angela Mastrianni, and sophomore Kristina Xiang claimed third place with a time of 4:30.51. The 400 free relay of freshman Sahara Clement, Gee, senior Hannah Gilbert and sophomore Nina Shmorhun took home second place with a time of 4:23.55.
The Owls are back to the water on Friday, Nov. 16, when they travel to Washington College for a 5:00 pm showdown with the Shorewomen.
