Bryn Mawr Swimming Opens Centennial Conference Championship With Record Breaking Relay

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Bryn Mawr Swimming team opened its 2018 Centennial Conference Championship with a school record in the 200 medley relay. Through the first two events of the four day championship hosted at Franklin and Marshall College the Owls have 50 points and are in eight-place in team standings.

Lillian Oyen-Ustad opened the 200 medley relay with a 28.03 split in the backstroke leg. Varuna Jasodanand followed, splitting 31.06 and Hannah Soisson split a 28.22 butterfly leg. Ryan Griffin closed out the record breaking squad with a split of 25.56 in the freestyle leg and a final time of 1:53.87. The former record was set at the 2017 Centennial Conference Championships (1:54.00).

Becca Adlai-Gail led off the Owls 800 freestyle relay with a swim of 2:04.43 and was followed by a 2:16.72 split from Samantha Forestier. Lucy Bruemmer swam a 2:07.41 in the third leg and Madelyn Schwimmer brought the relay home with a final time of 8:31.30 and a personal split of 2:02.74.

Preliminary heats of the 500 free, 200 IM, and 50 free begins Friday morning at 10am. The Centennial Conference is streaming live from the championships and live results are available here.
